Laurier-Dorion

A tight race is playing out between three parties in Laurier-Dorion. The Parti Québécois had reelected candidate Badiona Bazin for the second time, causing a certain malaise in its militant base. This former candidate for Vision Montreal is an accounting consultant and former host at CPAM, Montreal's Haitian community radio station. He is also a singer, having released an album for his evangelist duo entitled "Poésie au large de la nuit".

He is now neck and neck with the Québec Solidaire candidate, Andrés Fontecilla, the coordinator of the Conseil communautaire Solidarités Villeray for 14 years. Of Chilean origin, he also spent a year in Haïti for the United Nations. The Option Nationale candidate, physicist and environmentalist Miguel Tremblay, is the former president of the riding for the Parti Québécois.

Electionsqc.com are calling a PQ victory at 28% in Laurier-Dorion, three points ahead of QS, whereas the PLQ is in third place. Tooclosetocall.ca and Threehundredeight.com call for a PQ and PLQ tie, six to eight points ahead of QS.
